Les sciences sociales ont à raison beaucoup prêté attention aux moteurs de l’expansion de la (bio)médecine au long des périodes moderne et contemporaine. Elles ont par contraste proposé moins d’outils pour comprendre comment certains problèmes restaient en dehors, étaient sortis ou rejetés hors de la juridiction médicale. Ce séminaire proposera une exploration de certaines des frontières, limites et marges de la biomédecine. Les premières séances seront consacrées à mettre en place un questionnement et expliciter les concepts mobilisés au long du semestre. Les séances suivantes porteront sur une série d’objets, questions ou problèmes : fin de vie, médico-social, vieillissement, médecines alternatives... Le séminaire s’appuiera à la fois sur la lecture et la discussion de travaux empirique et sur des recherches en cours.
